How to clear your cache in your Internet Explorer web browser

If you know for sure you are not seeing the most current version of our web page, try hitting refresh or reload. If that doesn't work, what is your web browser:

Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer browser temporarily stores images and text from the Web pages on your hard drive in a storage area called a cache. When the cache fills up, performance can slow down, and your hard drive may run out of space. When you visit a web page for the second and future times, your browser is supposed to do a date/time check on the cached copy of the page you are visiting, to see if the Internet copy is newer and load it if it is. Sometimes, browsers don't work properly. Refresh or reload is supposed to fix this problem, but occasionally that doesn't work either. You will need to clear your cache.

To clear the browser cache:

  1. On the Tools menu on the Internet Explorer toolbar, click Internet Connections.
  2. On the General tab of the window, in the middle of the window where it says Temporary Internet Files, click Delete Files..
  3. A window will come up that has a check box next to Delete all offline content. Check this box and click OK.
  4. If you haven't done this before, it may take a few minutes for your cache to clear. Be patient!
  5. When it completes, the Internet Options window will be available again. Click OK to close.
  6. Now hit Refresh or Reload button on your button bar.
